BUTCHERS’ HELPER, KOMBUCHA MAKER & SAUERKRAUT MAKER
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team in the position of Kombucha and Sauerkraut maker and Butchers helper. This is a position that will cover all these duties. If you are passionate about food, interested in traditional food preservation techniques, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you.
This is a part-time temporary position that has the potential for the successful candidate to become full-time, permanent.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Butchers’ Helper
- Assist the head butcher in preparing meat for custom clients and sales including, but not limited to deboning, grinding, and packaging
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the butcher shop including, but not limited to maintaining a clean and organized packaging area, helping with cleaning of equipment and butcher shop
Kombucha Maker helper:
Working with the head kombucha brewer to:
- Prepare and monitor the fermentation process of kombucha
- Packaging and labeling kombucha for sale
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kombucha brewing area
- Working with the head brewer, experiment with different flavors and ingredients to create unique kombucha blends
Sauerkraut Maker helper:
Working with the head sauerkraut maker to:
- Prepare and ferment sauerkraut using traditional methods
- Monitor fermentation process and ensure product quality
- Package and label sauerkraut for sale
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not required
- Passion for food and interest in traditional food preservation methods Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to helping produce high quality food

We are seeking a full-time Artisan Butcher
Harmonys Way Family Farm is a multi-generational family farm and on-farm butcher shop located in the beautiful Peace Country of northern Alberta, Canada. From “field to fork,” our passion is raising and processing the best all-natural grass-fed/grass-finished beef and lamb and pasture/forest raised pork possible. We believe that people “eat with their eyes first” therefore attention to the little details are important to us. All our animals and partner farm animals are processed in our on-farm licensed meat processing facility then sold directly to our customers through farmers markets and online sales. We are seeking a skilled full-time artisan butcher to process beef, pork, lamb and wild game. You must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.

· Can engage with customers; helping them with product selection and suggesting ways they can cook their purchases successfully.

Duties include, but are not limited to…
· assisting in slaughter of animals
· processing rail beef, lamb and pork to retail cuts and processing custom domestic meat and wild game including guiding the customer through the variety of cuts that can be obtained from a carcass
· sausage making, curing and smoking meat, jerky and deli meats
· packaging, pricing and preparing meat products for the farmers market
WageTo be negotiated based on experience, ranging from $18-$28 hour.
Experience: 5 years experience required
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 to 10 hours/day up to 40 hours/week Every weekend and statutory holiday off.
This is a permanent position.3 month trial period
