Are you brave enough to embrace your path by living joyfully?

Saturday morning I rise early to light the wood cookstove so I can prepare breakfast for the family before we all head off in our own directions. This day I will be heading to the Farmers Market , as I do every Saturday. The market is an integral part of our farm. Here I have the privilege to connect with like-minded people who have a passion for the healthy meats we raise. The rest of the family headed for the local horse sale where they will be looking for potential future equine farm helpers.
As I climb into the cold truck to warm it up I am visually reminded that one season is ending and another one is dawning.
The fresh, dew drenched mornings of autumn have gently slipped away to reveal the reality of the coming winter. Will it be mild, short and easy? Or, will it tighten its icy grip and refuse to loosen it for many months?
It is a time when much of nature slips into its renewing slumber. A time on the farm when its human inhabitants can slow down a bit. A time to reflect on the season just past. A time to contemplate what lies ahead.
Questions come with the changing seasons.
Will we have enough stockpiles to feed the animals?
Are the water systems winter proofed?
Are our larders filled sufficiently?
Have we gathered enough firewood?
Is the generator ready to go if it is needed?
Are we prepared for what the future holds?
So many questions! Only time will show us the answers.
We do not take the path of fear. We choose the path of faith. The path of joyfully living within our circle of influence.
Isaiah 41:10 says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
I am grateful that the farm beckons us to embrace the ebb and flow of the seasons. Our world beckons us to change also. Remember, we have the freedom to choose how we will react to the changes that surround us. The changes that can overwhelm us. Will we choose fear or joy? Our family chooses JOY!
Will you choose FEAR or JOY as we live in a world of constant change?
